Metropolitan e-Learning sistem

The Faculty of Information Technology, the founder of Metropolitan University, was the first in the country to obtain work permit from the Ministry of Education which includes distance learning – through the Internet, due to the most up-to-date technologies it applies. Within this short period, especially in cooperation with our lecturers from the “New York Institute of Technologies" on the IT programme, we managed to realize a unique programme of advanced academic and professional studies.

Following the market demands in the first years of its existence, apart from the Information Technology, FIT developed six more study programmes from the areas of management and design. The study at these study programmes is both traditional, and supported by Internet studies.

Currently, there are over 500 distance learning students at Metropolitan, from all over the world: Greece, Austria, Spain, Germany, The United States of America, Mexico, The United Arab Emirates. According to the law for higher education, the degree acquired from distance learning is equal to the degree acquired at traditional study mode, both in terms of gained knowledge, and the earned degree.

Multimedia lectures and tutorials are available to students 24 hours a day, along with digital literature and lecture materials for exam preparation, which enables successful studies for employed students as well as those who are unable to attend lectures regularly. Our lecturers are available to students through video conferencing, so absence from traditional classes does not exclude real time communication with lecturers.

It is important to state that the whole study material which is available through the Metropolitan eLearning system is included in the tuition fee.
